The
White Heart is a total refurbishment of the former ‘White
Hart’ pub
at Bridge End in Penistone, South Yorkshire and the
joy of local business-people Gillian and Chris
Ward. The new look White Heart now incorporates
a modern but friendly bar area and contemporary
restaurant. The stylish décor,
a warm and cosy compact eating area, mezzanine
level and lighting certainly add to the stylish
atmosphere to give the old historical building
a certain ‘wow’ factor. |
Chef, Paul Taylor, comes to the White Heart with a well-established
reputation and a host of ideas. He is a young man with
an already great culinary pedigree, has created a small,
but excellent menu, using carefully selected locally-sourced,
seasonal produce. All meat is bought from local Hade Edge
butcher Brindon Addy.
Our
new function
room "The
Talbot Suite" has just opened and is available
for civil weddings and partnerships and wedding
receptions with a seating capacity of 70 to 80
people. The suite is ideal for birthday parties,
Christenings, business dinners and conferences
or to hire for live events.
With artworks on
the walls, which are Gill’s very own work,
a testament to her art study days and a feature,
which gives the restaurant, it's own stunning, unique
style. The restaurant has other small factors to
help create the atmosphere, with the large feature
window, once being the entrance to the former coaching
inn, and a tiny window in the mezzanine level, being
the former window in the jail.

This historical pub
was once a halfway housebetween Sheffield and Manchester
where convicts were often kept overnight in the jail room.
With the simple stylish façade, the large decking and seating area in the
massive secure car park The White Heart will impress you
straight away.
The overall ambience is
very good, once you have got over the mild shock of realising
that you are entering what once was a very traditional
drinkers pub and finding yourself in a brassiere-style
establishment that creates a combination of chic and warmth
that is both welcoming and relaxing. |
